Just a reminder to check on your neighbors today, especially the elderly and their pets. Anyone without air conditioning is going to be uncomfortable today, but, the ill and elderly are at risk because like our dogs, they are unable to regulate their body temperatures--they just don't know they're overheating until it is too late.
So be a nosey-New Yorker. Ring a doorbell, knock on a door, ask your neighbors how they feel, see if they have air conditioning and if not get them to a cooling center, and, see if they need help with their pets too.
