The following description is from the MCNY website:
Photographer Charlotte Dumas will speak about her portraits of New York City shelter dogs, now on view in Dutch Seen: New York Rediscovered, followed by a discussion with dog handlers from Center for Animal Care & Control of New York City about their work in rescuing, caring for, and finding homes for homeless and abandoned animals throughout the five boroughs. Ms. Dumas has concentrated her career on photographing animals, including stray dogs in Palermo, Italy; race horses in France and Italy; wolves in Norway, Sweden, and the United States; and tigers in captivity around the United States. The event will be preceded by a “meet and greet” with several shelter dogs (available for adoption) on the Museum’s front terrace.
